Estrogen Balancing Smoothie Recipe

This is an estrogen-detox smoothie recipe that is original! I have started to search high and low for a delicious tasting smoothie to support healthy estrogen detox, since I myself am on hormone replacement therapy. This one also has protein in it, making it great to drink right after a workout.


The ingredients have been chosen to help support healthy estrogen detox, which may be beneficial for those with estrogen dominant conditions, like fibroids, and for those on combined hormonal contraception or hormone replacement therapy.


*Organic, non-GMO soy: Increased intake of soy has been associated with a decreased risk of some hormone sensitive cancers, like breast cancer. Soy has many mechanisms of action, including decreased angiogenesis (new blood supply to tumor cells) and pathways associated with the growth of cancer cells.


*Oranges and Greens: High in glucaric acid, which can inhibit beta-glucuronidase (an enzyme that allows estrogen to recirculate in the body).


*Flaxseed: High in phytoestrogens called lignans. Lignans can help shift estrogen metabolism towards a healthier pathway.


*Probiotics: A healthy, diverse estrobolome (gut bacteria capable of metabolizing estrogens). Lactobacillus supplements are associated with a reduction in the activity of fecal enzymes, like beta-glucuronidase.


*Strawberries: High in phytoestrogens, as well as fiber and antioxidants, supporting a healthy gut microbiome.

1 scoop Orgain Organic Protein & Superfoods Plant Based Protein Powder

1 scoop Amazing Grass Greens Blend Berry

1 small orange

1 cup frozen strawberries

1 tablespoon flaxseed

1-2 cups organic soy milk

Probiotic
